Introducing The Working Garden Project!
Today we launched a new initiative called The Working Garden Project. It’s a nationwide effort to bring nature programming and communal gardening to workplaces across the country.
After hosting one-on-one and small group sessions (in addition to working with schools), I really wanted to start doing this work on a larger scale and help companies create better workplaces for their employees.
Some stats:
This isn’t news that people are struggling, but it’s also hard for companies to find solutions that aren’t one-off workshops, feel new, and are actually meaningful for employees. And that’s where nature comes in.
Gardening and exposure to nature has shown reductions “in depression, anxiety symptoms, and stress” and increases “in quality of life, sense of community, physical activity levels, and cognitive function.” Which can lead to more engagement, happiness, and productivity.
I’ll be partnering with ten companies (big and small) to help create nature programming and community garden spaces on their properties. This isn’t a workshop or one-time seminar, we’re designing with long-term use and long-term benefits in mind.
If this is something you think your company or a company you work for could benefit from, please reply to this email or message me hello (at) baskergardens.com. I would love to learn more about your team, needs, and how we can help.
Thanks so much!
