This is a beginner’s guide to learning to grow cut flowers. No green thumb or experience necessary!
What you’ll learn:
• An understanding of your growing zone + what flowers and herbs to grow in the cool season
• How to read a seed packet
• Annuals vs. Perennials
• Growing from seed, bulbs, and corms (ranunculus and anemones!)
• How to layout / design your garden bed or pots
• Why cut-and-come-again flowers are the hero of any garden
• The best resources for your growing needs (seeds, tools, etc.)
• Learn which flowers have dual purposes (ones for drying and fabric dying)
• Economical and sustainable ways to get the most out of your garden
This session is a hands-on workshop!
We’ll seed trays together, transplant seedlings to bigger pots, and learn best cutting practices. Please wear comfy clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.

About your teacher:
Jessica Murnane is a horticultural therapy practitioner, author, and researcher. She’s worked in the well-being space for over a decade, authoring two books: One Part Plant and Know Your Endo, hosting the podcast, Inside + Outside, and has been featured in/or contributed to magazines including Bon Appétit, Goop, People, and Shape Magazine.
